CIMRM Supplement - Base (C) of a statue of Cautopates, Mithraeum III. Apulum/Alba Iulia, Romania.

Made out of Ighiu limestone, with top and base decorated with moldings. Dedicated by the same Vitalis as the main altar (A).

Discovered in the debris that accumulated in the nave of the mithraeum after the collapsed roof tiles had been cleared in the medieval period, the piece was split in half vertically and then again horizontally; the lower left quarter of the inscribed field is missing.
