Altar to Mithras Rock-born (Petra Genetrix). There are three altars in the Museum Carnuntinum (the old museum).

The altar on the right was erected by the priest Publius Aelius Nigrinus, who wanted to pay tribute to the goddess Petra Genetrix.
The Latin text (CIL 03 - 04424):
PETRAE // GENETRICI
Publius AElius NIGRI- // NUS SACERDOS
Votum Solvit

Note that there is no goddess "petra genetrix".

Six altars in sandstone were erected in a semi-circle, four of which have inscriptions (Arneth in Sb. Akad. Wien XI, 1853, 33lf; v. Sacken, Taf. I, 2-4 and 340; Arneth, 332, 1; 333, 3):
Altar with volutes (H. 0.52 Br. 0.24-0.27 D. 0.21). Inv. No. III, 80. Traces of red colour in the letters.
